¿De qué trata Ángeles en América?
Cuando Prior Walter (Justin Kirk) le confiesa a su amante Lou (Ben Shenkman) que ha contraído el sida, éste lo abandona. A medida que la enfermedad y la soledad destruyen a Prior, la culpa consume a Lou. Al mismo tiempo, Roy Cohn (Pacino), un hombre muy influyente, anima a Joe Pitt (Patrick Wilson), un abogado mormón y republicano, a trabajar en el Departamento de Justicia. Ambos ocultan su homosexualidad: Pitt por vergüenza y por razones religiosas, Cohn para conservar el poder. Por su parte, Harper (Mary-Louise Parker), la frustrada esposa de Pitt, está deseando librarse de la farsa de su matrimonio. Un ángel mensajero (Emma Thompson) invita a Prior a actuar como un profeta.
