Worum geht es in Secret State?
Kurz vor den Wahlen kommt es zu einem gigantischen Unfall in einer Mineralölfabrik in Teesside, Nordengland. Mehrere Menschen kommen zu Tode und die Sicherheitsvorkehrungen der Fabrik PetroFex stehen in Frage. Der britische Premierminister verspricht Entschädigungen aber auf dem Rückflug von PetroFex stürzt sein Flugzeug auf unerklärliche Weise in den Atlantik. Der Vize-Premier Tom Dawkins (Gabriel Byrne) übernimmt und deckt Stück für Stück eine Verschwörung auf, die bis ins Zentrum des politischen Systems reicht.
